Out-of-Season Tornado Outbreak Forecast for Later Today

Update posted at 3:15pm. I expect the thunderstorms to begin developing on the west side of the threatened areas around 5-6pm. Please monitor the weather throughout the evening.

We don't normally see tornado outbreaks in August but that is what the NWS is forecasting today and tonight. 

The yellow, hatched area has an enhanced risk of strong tornadoes. The yellow are has an enhanced risk of tornadoes. The brown area has a significant risk of tornadoes.

The red, hatched area has a high risk of winds 75 mph or stronger. The red area has an enhanced risk of 60 mph or stronger winds. And, the yellow area has a significant risk of 60 mph or stronger winds. Power failures and tree damage are likely. 

Please prepare accordingly for these storms.
