The Official Pastime of Kansas and Oklahoma

Most Kansans and Oklahomans have never seen a tornado with their own eyes. Really.

Which must explain why so many of us (us = males) feel the need to chase them or (foolishly) go outdoors to watch. Connie Henderson sent in this photo from Cherokee, Oklahoma, illustrates the phenomena perfectly.

Red car is a storm chaser headed toward the tornado (smart people would be headed away) and a group of men out on the sidewalk are gawking. Where are the women? Wisely, in shelter.

UPDATE: Michelle Strecker adds, "The women aren't in shelter. They're at the windows, shouting at the men, 'get in here!'"
