Tornado Warning NW Atlanta Area

This is a case where Doppler radar (which measures winds internal to a storm) allows us to track tornadoes we could not see with conventional radar.

1:52pm. The differing colors is the position of the rotation.

1:43pm, the rotation was somewhat stronger at this time.

The conventional radar at 1:58pm CDT does not show a hook, so the Doppler data is essential. The area northeast of Kennisaw and around Noonday and Woodstock are in the path of this storm.
The tornado symbols = earlier touchdowns.
