Flood Outlook Worsens for the Northeast

Little has changed since the morning outlook (below) except that the rainfall forecast in the Northeast -- including areas that flooded as a result of Irene and still have saturated soils -- has increased.

  1. Just wondering what the numbers in the precip graphic represent? Cummulative precip over a given period, I'm guessing? What period? Thanks! (we live under the 7.5 in PA)
