The SPC has upgraded today's tornado risk. It extends from around Texarkana through northern Mississippi and southwest Tennessee, including Memphis. The hatching means there is a risk of strong (defined as EF-2 intensity damage or stronger).
The forecast for tomorrow is about the same as earlier:
In my 4-level risk categories:
- Red + hatched = high risk of strong tornadoes.
- Yellow + hatched = enhanced risk of strong tornadoes.
- Yellow = enhanced risk of tornadoes.
- Brown = significant risk of tornadoes.
This is a more dangerous situation than usual. Please prepare accordingly.
