We Are Getting Into A Flash Flood Period

More than 20" of rain has fallen south of Houston and more heavy rain is expected with the move of Tropical Storm Imelda into Texas.

There are three areas of serious concern:

• Continuation of the Imelda threat in Texas and far west Louisiana.
• Arizona. Late monsoon moisture and an upper atmospheric low moving into California will set off the threat of flash floods. 
• Kansas, Missouri and Illinois. Note the forecast of more than 7" around Kansas City. Don't take that location literally. However, very heavy rains are possible in this area during the next six days.
