Another Derecho?

Two nights ago a derecho formed on the Colorado-Kansas border that traveled all the way into Georgia. The same thing may occur tonight.

Strong thunderstorms have developed in eastern Colorado and northeast New Mexico. These may congeal into a derecho over Kansas during the night. An indicator this may occur is the line of thunderstorms at a 90° angle over Kansas ahead of the storms. A tornado watch is in effect for those storms.

Derechoes can produce very strong winds and hail. Below is the wind forecast (gusts 60 mph or higher)  from the NWS Storm Prediction Center. Fifteen percent is the significant threshold.
Please keep up on the weather in these areas.
