The Hazards Meteorologists Deal With!
Normally, rain gauges are read at 7am. We had to delay due to lightning; nothing new about that. But, when the lightning cleared a new hazard presented itself -- our neighborhood coyote catching his/her breakfast and chowing down behind and to the left of the gauge. We decided getting near a breakfasting coyote was probably not a good idea.
So, our 8am reading was 1.37 inches.
