Today's Tornado and Severe Thunderstorm Outlook

Here is higher than usual uncertainty twelve hours or so before the beginning of the storms due to the positioning of the strong warm front now in the Plains. This is the SPC's best thinking and I agree: The highest threat of major tornadoes (hatched) will be in southwest Oklahoma and north central and northwest Texas.
Keep in mind, however, that 5% is the significant threshold for any tornado which extends all the way to Chicago with 10% all the way to KC.

There is an unusually high risk of very large hail (hatched) including areas north of the warm front. The hatched area is a forecast of hail ≥2" in diameter.

Meanwhile, the winter storm continues with Interstates closed in Wyoming. Details from AccuWeather.

I'll be providing updates later in the day.
