Update on Severe Thunderstorm Threat

6:46pm radar update. It has been hailing at the Smith House with a couple of stones nearly quarter size. The arrow points to the culprit echo. It is now pouring. Both storms near the Oklahoma border may have hail greater than 2" as they move ESE.

ORIGINAL POSTING:
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 11pm CDT for large hail and damaging winds.

The radar -- 6:35pm CDT -- shows a storm with very large hail (≥2") just northeast of Alva, Oklahoma, that is moving ESE at 20 mph. The storm southwest of Medicine Lodge likely has 1" or large hail. The storms closer to Wichita have very heavy rain (much needed!) and, perhaps, small hail.
