Global Warming: Is There Anything It Can't Do?!

Good morning, everyone. For unexpected reasons, I am not able to write new content this morning, so I am moving this up by one day. Hope you find it interesting. 


I simply can't imagine why anyone reads The New York Times. So many of its global warming stories are just wrong. 

Dead from weather-related disasters have decreased, not increased. See the graph below. 
The above puts the lie to the story regardless of the additional fact that weather-related disasters and subsequent deaths are not decreasing due to climate (discussion here).

I suppose there will always be people who want to signal their virtue by reading the Times but I can't imagine people read it for quality climate journalism.

The title of this essay is from a press release that indirectly "blames the victim." The author is Sedgwick County Emergency Management regarding a fatal tornado that occurred just north of Wichita at 1:14 this morning. The tornado was rated EF-2 ("strong") intensity. I believe the wording is unfortunate as discussed below.  Photo: KAKE.com. Tornado Forecast Update at 2am Wednesday

2am While the risk of tornadoes may continue during the night, this will have to end my coverage.  Note the risk of tornadoes farther east later today.  1:35am Wednesday: Tornado watch will likely be issued for the outlined area, including the Kansas City Metro. Make sure you have a way to receive tornado warnings the rest of the night.  11:55p Tuesday: New tornado watch has just been issued for most south central (including Wichita), southeast and east central Kansas.  This watch is in effect until 7am Wednesday.
