The Clearest Radar in Quite Some Time

This is the clearest national radar in quite some time. 

While there may be large hail in the South tomorrow, the risk of tornadoes until Sunday, or even beyond, is low. 

The 5-day rainfall map is below.
It shows a mixed blessing. Some of the areas hard-hit by tornadoes will have a chance to dry out and recover while others expect a few showers and thunderstorms. The big problem is that the drought conditions in the Southwest will continue to worsen as will the dry conditions in the central Great Plains.

The title of this essay is from a press release that indirectly "blames the victim." The author is Sedgwick County Emergency Management regarding a fatal tornado that occurred just north of Wichita at 1:14 this morning. The tornado was rated EF-2 ("strong") intensity. Tornado Forecast Update at 2am Wednesday

2am While the risk of tornadoes may continue during the night, this will have to end my coverage.  Note the risk of tornadoes farther east later today.  1:35am Wednesday: Tornado watch will likely be issued for the outlined area, including the Kansas City Metro. Make sure you have a way to receive tornado warnings the rest of the night.  11:55p Tuesday: New tornado watch has just been issued for most south central (including Wichita), southeast and east central Kansas.  This watch is in effect until 7am Wednesday.
