More Flooding Plus a Tornado Risk in California
More heavy rain (snow in the mountains) forecast. Rains have already begun over the southern two-thirds of the state. See 3:15pm radar below. In addition, there is small risk of a tornado, especially tomorrow morning, in coastal areas of Southern California, shown in dark green.
Seems like the persistent strong ridge over the Eastern Pacific is migrating inland. Do we have research into the duration of longwave anomalies like this one? Bad news for CA and the Sierra mountains. Meanwhile the CO Rockies snowpack is above average and skiing has been good to great!
