11:45am Severe Weather Update
A "particularly dangerous situation" tornado watch has been issued for much of central and western Kansas (including Wichita) and northwest Oklahoma until 6pm CDT. Probability of all types of severe weather, including tornadoes of F-2 intensity or higher, is "high."
The next area to get a tornado watch will likely be parts of Nebraska (red outlined area):
Currently AccuWeather regional radar shows at 11:35am:
A number of the storms above have severe thunderstorm warnings currently in effect. However, I would not be surprised if a second -- stronger -- line of thunderstorms develops late this afternoon or early this evening as depicted here.
While I will try to update this blog from time to time, I will be storm chasing this afternoon. There are two ways to follow the chase. Twitter at: @usweatherexpert and at AccuWeather.com.
