"Winter Dance Party"

Kathleen and I went to Wichita's Orpheum Theatre last night to see a reenactment of the Winter Dance Party.  Native Wichitan John Mueller hit upon the idea in 1999 for the 40th anniversary of the day the music died.  They played the venues played by Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper ending at The Surf Ballroom on February 2, 1999. The show has been touring ever since.

Both Kathleen and I thought the show was terrific. Highly recommend it when it comes to your town.
