Isaias Update: Hurricane Watch Issued

A hurricane and storm surge watch is in effect for the pink are on the map. A tropical storm watch is in effect for the area in yellow. Peak winds are forecast to be 110 mph while it is over the Gulf and somewhat less strong when it makes landfall.

A major storm surge is forecast.
I will update this afternoon.

The tornado forecast is unchanged from yesterday. The brown area has a significant risk of tornadoes and the hatching indicates they could be strong.  During the next three days, more than five inches of rain is forecast to fall in Iowa (orange).  The result is a serious flood risk over Iowa and into northwest Missouri in the dark blue. In the pale blue, there is a lesser flood risk.
