Dust Blowing From California into Pacific

The 100 mph Santa Ana winds yesterday (Thursday) that blew from the desert across southern California were so strong that dessert sand and dust can be seen blowing from the coast over the Pacific.

  1. I live 3 miles from the coast south of LAX and our wind was coming from the west. We thought we'd lose our roof but it held. I remember a wind event like this in the 90's when we had gusts that broke our chained gate apart and sent it flying.
We can do with out this. I'm waiting for cool weather to sit on us for a while and give me an excuse to buy a 1/2 cord of firewood.
