Today's Tornado Risk - Updated 7:50pm

7:50pm, Additional Tornado Watch

Another Tornado Watch Issued
In Kansas, the watch includes Manhattan, Marysville, Plainville, Codell, Wilson Lake and Concordia.

Damaging Wind Threat Increased
The pink area is an increase in the geographic area with a high
threat of wind gusts to 85 mph into tonight. Please plan accordingly!

1:45pm update
Please note, in addition to tornadoes, wind gusts of 85mph and apple-sized hail are forecast to occur. Please keep a close eye on the weather in the yellow area.

11:40am
This forecast was updated at 11:40am. The "significant area" was expanded to the east

Here are the colors and what they mean with this outlook:
  • Red = high risk of strong tornadoes (indicated by the hatching).
  • Yellow = enhanced risk of strong tornadoes.
  • Brown = significant risk of strong tornadoes.
There is also the risk of very large hail (2" or larger in much of the hatched area).

Please monitor the weather if you live in these areas.

Important note: Tomorrow (Monday) may be an even bigger tornado and giant hail day than today. I will have a forecast up later today.

While I have you, there is a critical wildfire risk in the southern High Plains.
