Yes, A Democratic Judge Kept Alive Another "Disaster" Slush Fund Yesterday
When you hear Republicans vote against "disaster aid" it is usually this type of nonsense and graft they
are voting for. The BRIC program, supposedly, is designed to harden infrastructure against disasters.
President Trump wanted to shut down the FEMA BRIC program which has benefited almost wholly Democrat areas and primarily those connected to Democrat interests. The judge appointed by Bill Clinton yesterday ruled that Trump could not shut down the program (surprise!).
So, I asked the Grok AI program to list the most recent large BRIC grants. Here is the list.
Note that 100% of them went to blue states or blue interest groups. This was part of the Biden Administration's orgy of spending just before he left office. ![]() |
| When you go to look up the information about that spending this is what you now find. |
According to Grok several of these projects were merely to bring buildings up to code. Others are storm water improvements. Exactly why should the taxpayers of the Dakotas and Idaho, for example, pay to fix the storm sewers in Baltimore or for a hospital in Washington, DC?!
This is why FEMA should be pared back to an agency that coordinates logistics and grants after major disasters and most everything else is left to the states.
