The Mobile Killing Chamber = Tool of the Nazis

Image
I've carried over yesterday's post after seeing a tweet comparing Democrat's having a van to abort babies outside of their Chicago convention to the Nazi's "death vans."  I hadn't heard about that before, so I looked it up. Here it is: More abortion availability has been a major theme of the DNC. I guess a mobile abortion van meets that goal. Last I heard, the Fifth Commandment, "Thou Shall Not Kill," is still in effect.  Note: It is a commandment,  not a suggestion.  All pro-abortion Americans, please ask yourself: is this really what you want to be associated with? When you meet God at the end of your life, how do you think He will feel about mobile killing facilities?! There's always time to reconsider your values. Abortion is a sign of a sick society. We are in danger of losing our nation.  From a member of the King Family: Here moving video is here .

Abortion Chaos in Kansas

While we love Kansas, I am ashamed that it allows abortions – especially that it allows them up to 22 weeks. We are the “abortion capital of the Midwest,” a dubious title that many of us predicted would develop after Kansans voted against restricting abortion two years ago.    The leading abortion facility in Kansas is named “Trust Women.” It is currently closed to abortions and has been for a while. Here are two news stories regarding the behind-the-scenes drama:    The first, from May 23, is here .    The second, from  The Wichita Eagle and published yesterday, is here .     We can thank God that, evidently, no abortions have been performed in the interim and none will be provided in the immediate future.    However, women may want to consider what the May 23 story reports pertaining to the facility’s medical director:   According to sources, a new medical director was announced on Monday:   Dr. Ekwensi Griffit...

Sunday Thoughts: We Were Assured This Wouldn't Happen

Image
Last year at this time, Kansas was in the middle of an election campaign to allow the legislature to put restrictions on abortion. Our Supreme Court ruled, in spite of the word not appearing the Kansas Constitution, that it contains a "right" to abortion. Those of us on the pro-life side warned that Kansas would become the abortion capital of the Midwest. I was told, explicitly, by one abortion supporter that becoming an abortion capital would not occur.  Now, less than a year after the vote, it has already occurred. See the story above. I can hardly imagine what the numbers will be in another full year.  The late Bishop Fulton Sheen (a likely saint) summarized our current problems in America well. 986 of every thousand abortions are for convenience. The 986 are not  due to rape, incest, the physical health of the mother, or the child having genetic issues.  That means that Kansas doctors aborted 12,245 baby girls and baby boys for convenience -- our future scientist...

Our Nation: “How Can The Dream Survive If We Murder the Children?”

Image
The title of this piece are words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s niece, Alveda King. They pertain to the black community and abortion.  Because this issue is currently before the courts, I'm quoting from portions of this article : According to an amicus curiae  brief  filed by the Independence Law Center in the  Allegheny  case, almost 40 percent of black babies are aborted in Pennsylvania. In surrounding states, the problem is equally bad or worse — in New York, 59.6 percent of black, non-Hispanic babies are aborted. There are more black babies aborted in New York than born. Black people are disproportionately the most affected by abortion when compared to any other race. Among the black demographic, abortion is essentially a thinly veiled genocide. I've written before about Planned Parenthood and how it was created, in part, to eliminate the black race. The article goes on to state: Believe it or not, this mass killing was intentional. Planned Parenthood fo...

My Response to Those Trying to Deplatform Tony Dungy

Image
Someone by the name of Dave Zirin of “The Nation” is trying to get the great Tony Dungy fired and he is willing to completely misrepresent facts to accomplish it. While I am not a big fan of Dungy's sports commentary, the left-wing’s “cancel” campaigns need to be refuted and stopped, which is why I am writing this piece.  The annual March for Life occurred in Washington last week. Even though it was post- Roe v Wade  there were more than 100,000 people in attendance. Zirin begins his article with this libel: I’ve covered the March for Life in Washington, D.C., for years. It is a madhouse of right-wing gadflies, disinformation addicts, Qanon adherents, and, most disturbingly, class after class of teenage and tween-age children dragged there by teachers who abuse their authority in ways that would make Ron DeSantis smirk. (He only outlaws the speech of  some  teachers .) My children have participated in the March and his comments are false. The participa...

Caring For the Least Among Us

Image
The Bishop of Belleville, Illinois made an important announcement : It seemed to fly under the radar of both secular and most Catholic media, but recently some heartening news came out of the Diocese of Belleville, Illinois, when Bishop Michael McGovern announced that he would be selling the 13-bedroom manor that has been the home of Belleville’s shepherds for over 150 years. In  a splendid example of the Church putting its money where its mouth is, Bishop McGovern’s office said that selling the valuable property is meant to “generate resources that can be used for a maternity fund for expectant mothers as well as in support of Catholic education, youth ministry and evangelization.” Throughout the post-Dodd period, there have been those that have accused Catholics of hypocrisy in the pro-life realm. That simply isn't correct and much of the criticism is simply in bad faith. So, I wanted to provide you with yet another example of Catholics trying to care for the least among us as Ch...

Do We Want Kansas to Be Primarily Known For Abortion?

Image
NPR seems to think ending Kansas as an abortion destination is a bad thing Do we really want to continue to be the abortion capital of the Midwest!?  Liberals from outside of Kansas (from where most of the money is coming) are playing us for chumps.  There are excellent religious and theological arguments against abortion, but I haven't used any of them. Why? They aren't needed to encourage you to vote  YES!!     Kansas, by any measure, has economically lagged behind Texas, Oklahoma and other neighboring states. Companies do not want to move to abortion-intensive areas just like they do not wish to locate near strip clubs, meat packing or rending plants.  One good way to start to turn economy around would be to put abortion back into the realm of Kansans and our representatives rather than an activist Kansas Supreme Court -- which has virtually no accountability -- and wants to expand abortion to the day before birth.  Consider that Mich...

My Recommendation Regarding the Kansas Constitutional Amendment Election

Image
We in Kansas are faced with a constitutional amendment vote on August 2 -- with early voting now in progress -- pertaining to abortion. The question is simply whether the people of Kansas, through our representatives, get to control our destiny pertaining to this critical issue.  With zero mention of, or allusion to, abortion in the Kansas Constitution, our state's Supreme Court "found" a right to abortion. This, of course, took the question out of the hands of the people and our legislators and put it into the hands of unelected judges.  The only question before the people of our state is whether we decide our future. By voting yes, the only thing that happens is the KS Supreme Court's decision is overturned and the people through the legislature will make sure decisions as to the law on this topic. To me, the clear vote is, YES!! The above is my recommendation. If you wish to read more, please join me. Once returned to the legislature, the goal of pro-life people li...

Pro-Life Means Pro-LIFE!

Image
The lie that "pro-life people are only pro-birth" is outrageous. So, I'm posting his thread for reference to any women who wants to keep their babies but may have concerns about support and finances. Here in Wichita, parochial school tuition is free.   Yes, free. And, you do not have to be Catholic to attend (those students receive an extra study hall). This is from kindergarten through high school. We understand that, to be truly pro-life, we must assist underprivileged women keep their babies.  The thread is below. Nowhere in the Gospels does it say that Jesus said to build giant unaccountable bureaucracies. He told us that every single one of us has a personal  obligation to help the poor. Nothing could be better than helping parents with the most important job on earth -- raising children! For those who may have missed it, here is CBS News' story about a pregnancy center and what it does for pregnant women in crisis.

The Campaign of Deception on the Kansas Constitutional Amendment

Image
It is bad enough that the Kansas Amendment's opponents are running a deceptive campaign, but their latest ad that implies the Catholic Church is on board with their pro-abortion stance is beyond the pale. The image below is a screen capture from their latest commercial. Here are the facts: The Kansas Supreme Court "found" that Kansas Constitution -- unlike the other 49 states' -- includes a "right" to abortion, even though abortion is not mentioned in the document.  The purpose of the August vote is simple: A YES vote amends the Constitution to so that the question of abortion goes back into the hands of the people of Kansas and our elected representatives. That's all! By itself, the amendment does not change abortion laws. I suspect polling tells the pro-abortion forces the amendment will pass (after all, a "yes" vote is pro -democracy) unless they lie, dissemble, and confuse the issue. So, they will lie if they must.  Vote YES on August 2!!...

The Woman Who Handed Me My Hamburger at the Drive-Through Was Silent About Abortion, Too

Image
I'm at a loss for words... The District of Columbia in 2020 voted against Trump 93%. The problem couldn't possibly be groupthink, could it? These stories aren't "news." They are ways of pressuring companies to follow "woke" politics." Update:  Evidently, I am not the only person who had this reaction .

Selling Unborn Baby Parts in the United States

Judicial Watch's uncovering of U.S. government (including Dr. Fauci's agency) documents pertaining to the buying and selling of parts of unborn babies is nothing short of horrific.  This is the stuff of Dr. Josef Mengele during the Holocaust . From the United States' Holocaust Museum : Mengele performed a broad range of agonizing and often lethal experiments with Jewish and  Roma  (Gypsy) twins, most of them children. He had a wide variety of other research interests. Among these was a fascination with heterochromia, a condition in which the irises of an individual's eyes differ in coloration. Throughout his stay in Auschwitz, Mengele collected the eyes of his murdered victims, in part to furnish “research material” to colleague Karin Magnussen, a KWI researcher of eye pigmentation. The killing of babies and then buying and selling their parts is an unspeakable evil. It is equivalent to acid flowing through our body politic .

America's Darkest Anniversary

Image
Saturday is the anniversary of the horrific Roe v Wade  ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court. Sixty-three million babies have been killed since that terrible day in 1973.  People used to be reluctant and embarrassed to talk about abortion. Now, it is open advocacy as was displayed by the Kansas City Star  's front page (below) on January 9th and celebrities bragging about their abortions. California is considering establishing an abortion tourism industry. According to historians, America hit its zenith -- military power, standard of living for the broad population with relatively little income inequality, et cetera, in 1975. I do not believe it is a coincidence that our nation has been in decline since then. Roe  allowed a pernicious evil into our society, has cast a shadow over our politics and elections, and has eaten away our morals like acid.  On the 49th anniversary of Roe,  here as some facts to keep in mind: Abortions performed as a result of rapes ar...

Before Getting Back to Weather...

Image
I've felt an obligation to inform my readers about how a colder than average winter and the supply chain issues the nation is current experiencing ( here , among other articles) could make for an extreme difficult winter, so I've written quite a bit about it recently.  With Thanksgiving travel coming up and some other items related to weather and climate, I want to get back to that topic tomorrow. Today, I want to write a piece about abortion and the despicable tactics of the pro-abortion media.  This BBC article blames pro-life people for jailing a woman for a "miscarriage." It begins, Brittney Poolaw was just about four months pregnant when she lost her baby in the hospital in January 2020.   This October, she was convicted and sentenced to four years in prison for the first-degree manslaughter of her unborn son... -- and, later, in the article -- At the same time, several US states have passed laws making it more difficult to obtain an abortion. While people oppos...

Weekend Movie Recommendation

Image
I can’t recommend  Unplanned  strongly enough. It is an entertaining, well-written and well-produced movie. It is not preachy. I’m not going to go into it in detail because I would like you to see it for yourself, regardless of your feelings about abortion.  Why? Because the media in our nation covers abortion from one side, only. The MSM have not only imposed a blackout regarding the movie, they won’t even accept paid advertising for it. Compare the movies’ scores (from RottenTomatoes.com, below) from MSM critics versus the audiences. The theatre was nearly full last night (Thursday) when I attended. You'll need to see it in the theatre because I suspect that, like Gosnell,  you won't see Unplanned  on HBO or the other cable services.  One comment: The movie should be rated PG-13; not R. I would be completely comfortable taking a teenaged child to it. In fact, it might be a good idea to do so.
