Mike, you should take a look at the widespread comms failures and Nexrad Level III outage during the past 24 hours. Here in Wyoming, both of our NWS offices AND their radars are "dead" and have been so since mid-evening Tuesday. Rapid City is backing up Cheyenne and Billings is backing up Riverton. We have severe weather in SE Wyoming and trying to nowcast using the Denver radar. Basically, we meteorologists here are flying blind (with the exception of having satellite data). This is all getting so tiresome.
