11pm UPDATE: Tropical Depression in the Gulf of Mexico

The good news is that it is not going to affect land areas as a significant weather system.

The center of the low pressure system is at the "X" labeled 4pm Thursday with 30 mph sustained winds. It is expected to strengthen just a bit and may become tropical storm Arlene. Friday night, the storm will weaken to a non-tropical depression by the time it gets to western Cuba.

11pm EDT Update: No change in the forecast.
