Central and Southern Great Plains Tornado and Severe Thunderstorm Risk

Normally, May and early June are the peaks of tornado season in Oklahoma and Kansas. This year, the tornadoes have been non-existent in southern Kansas (a very good thing!). Unfortunately, it looks like we are going to have a late-season period with severe thunderstorms and tornadoes from Saturday to about Thursday of next week (15th).

Here is the Saturday outlook.
The higher risk area is the yellow where large hail and damaging winds are quite possible. In the hatched area, hail 2" or larger is forecast to occur.

Stay tuned for additional updates.
