9:16pm Update

Here's the final update of evening:
  • Maroon polygon = tornado warning (north Texas)
  • Yellow county outlines = tornado watch
  • Blue county outlines = severe thunderstorm watch with tornadoes possible and winds to 75 mph.
The DFW Metroplex should keep a close eye on the thunderstorms to the north.

A tragic situation in Perryton, TX (northeast Panhandle) where at least one person has been killed and 75 injured in this afternoon's tornado. Wind gusts as strong as 88 mph were clocked in southwest Kansas.

The storms in central Oklahoma may well turn into a line and produce strong winds and power outages.

More storms likely tomorrow. Stay tuned.
