A swarm of small tornadoes occurred on Long Island this afternoon. Below is a screen capture of a tornado just before it moved into Mastic, New York. Tulsa World From the Tulsa World : A surprise tornado caused chaos across the Tulsa area Wednesday night in a storm that earlier in the day had only a “limited tornado threat.” The National Weather Service issued the first tornado warning at 7:19 p.m. — with no previous tornado watch in effect — and within minutes of the warning said a tornado was on the ground three miles southwest of  Catoosa moving at 50 mph. Damage on 18th floor of a high-rise building Tulsa World Based on the news photography I have seen, this tornado will be rated at least EF-2 -- another significant tornado without advance warning .  Here is a map of the approximate path of the tornado's rotation.  The Doppler wind radar data showed that a tornado warning should have been issued at 7:11pm for what meteorologists call a "QLCS tornado." Reds are winds away from the radar.  Greens are winds toward the radar. By 7:15pm, there was unquestionably a tornado on the ground as evidenced by the Doppler ...

As the useless COP26 meeting continues, China (which withdrew along with Putin and the Pope) thumbs its nose at the rest of the world.  China isn't stupid -- it is dangerous. It is building coal and nuclear power as fast as it can.  Challenging the United States is going to require tremendous amounts of electricity.  Meanwhile, when President Biden's Secretary of Energy is asked about more energy, this is the absurd response, especially since her administration has cut U.S. petroleum production by two million barrels a day. We better wise up fast.

The purple outlines = severe thunderstorm watch for large hail, damaging thunderstorm winds, and perhaps a few tornadoes as of 3:30pm CST. Evidently, tornado watch(s) will not be issued. 

The area outlined in blue is where a tornado watch along with a forecast of hail larger than 2" may be issued by around 3pm.  A second tornado watch may be issued farther south.  Note the thunderstorms forming as of 1:34pm south of Norman.  Please monitor the weather in this region the rest of the afternoon and evening.
