Record U.S. Major Hurricane Drought Continues

Every day is an additional day added to the record:
Graphic and more from Dr. Roger Pielke, Jr. The red line is the trend in major hurricanes. The trend is neutral.

Consider this: After all of the blather about record hurricanes after Katrina, the U.S. has completely shattered the record for longest period without a category 3 or stronger hurricane hitting the U.S. -- nearly eight years. This record goes back for more than 212 years!

Let me be clear: I believe human beings have a mild warming effect on the climate and there are certainly risks to continually adding CO2 to our atmosphere. What I object to is global warming extremism, the U.S. media's near complete lack of objective coverage of the extremists, and their refusal to admit that most all of the extreme forecasts have been wrong.

The U.S. media also refuses to discuss that the possibility of cooling, which is a greater risk to humanity, seems to be increasing. A detailed article on that subject is here.
