Too Much, Too Fast?

You can't end a severe drought by simply having "normal" amounts of precipitation. That said, it is amazing how fast this one has ended in parts of Kansas and Missouri.

Here is the rainfall map for the last two weeks:

To put those 15" rainfalls in two weeks in Kansas in perspective, that is one half year's average rainfall!  Cheney Lake, where Wichita gets most of its water has gone from 59% full to 98% full and rising today. Here are news stories about the flooding in Kansas and in Missouri.
