Minnow who were supposed to have taken a "three hour tour" and ended up being "stranded" for years.  On June 6, NASA and Boeing sent a two person crew to the International Space Station for an eight day tour, an eight day tour. Now, according to  NBC News , the Boeing crew may be stranded until  February! Roger testifying before Congress A hearty congratulations to Dr. Roger Pielke, Jr. NOAA has conceded his, mine and many other meteorologists/climatologists concerns regarding their Billion Dollar Disaster products are valid.  It took a peer-reviewed paper on the topic and a great deal of additional work to come to this point.  Excerpt of NOAA's response, "I" refers to Roger.  Roger goes on to write: T "The (billion dollar disaster) dataset is a clever public relations gimmick, to be sure, but it should never be used in scientific research, climate assessment reports, or as a grounding for policy." The National Hurricane Center says nothing in the way of a tropical storm for the next seven days. Yay!! Looking a little farther out, the single most accurate model for hurricane forecasting, the ECMWF, says nothing for the next ten days, which takes us to August 31 (below). The ECMWF now has an adjunct version that uses artificial intelligence; it says no storms, also. Important note: this is the first hurricane season for AI adjunct so we have no idea how skillful it may be.   None of the other models that reliably forecast tropical weather are forecasting any tropical storms through ten days. In fact, the model consensus until the end of the month is for abnormally calm conditions.  Addition : Matt Lanza, a Houston-based meteorologist who is a fine hurricane forecaster, published a piece on this same topic today. The Post  and other publications are having difficulties reconciling the reports of a waterspout and its role in sinking the Bayesian .  That's because there are two types of waterspouts... One occurs during the day, without a thunderstorm. They form over water and dissipate quickly when over land. That is the more typical waterspout.  The second, more dangerous, type is simply a tornado that moves over or happens to form over land. Generally, these are significantly stronger than the typical waterspout.  Coincidently, on June 17 I posted a video that shows a tornado forming on the shore and attacking boats when it quickly moved over water .  This tragedy should reinforce that thunderstorms and boating do not mix. Besides waterspouts, lightning, squall lines , and downbursts are all major hazards. 

I've carried over yesterday's post after seeing a tweet comparing Democrat's having a van to abort babies outside of their Chicago convention to the Nazi's "death vans."  I hadn't heard about that before, so I looked it up. Here it is: More abortion availability has been a major theme of the DNC. I guess a mobile abortion van meets that goal. Last I heard, the Fifth Commandment, "Thou Shall Not Kill," is still in effect.  Note: It is a commandment,  not a suggestion.  All pro-abortion Americans, please ask yourself: is this really what you want to be associated with? When you meet God at the end of your life, how do you think He will feel about mobile killing facilities?! There's always time to reconsider your values. Abortion is a sign of a sick society. ...and nearly spit out my drink when Michelle Obama said that she was "suspicious of people who take too much." If there is an award for most hypocritical sentence in 2024, I think we have a winner.  And, of course, the Obamas own three mansions on the U.S. mainland. If Kamala wins, it will be Obama's 4th term. Do we really want to be governed by them, again?
