New York Post Like most high-profile global warming zealots (Al Gore, Barack Obama, John Kerry, Leo DiCaprio, Price Harry, etc., etc.) George Soros is a hypocrite. I just purchased a home on the water on Long Island. No one who believes sea level is going to rise 21' would do that! Grok Yes, earth's rising temperatures are, in some ways, a serious threat. The way to handle it is with nuclear power, especially next generation nuclear. As to an existential threat, I'll quote Prof. Glenn Reynolds: I'll believe global warming is a serious threat when the people telling me it is a serious threat start acting like it is a serious threat.

My friend, Dr. Roger Pielke, Jr., is the subject of a feature by newsman John Stossel. It tells the story of how the Obama Administration tried to "cancel" him not because he didn't believe global warming is a serious problem but because he doesn't not believe it is an existential threat to humanity. It is well worth your time. Roger is a hero.

The title of this piece is a satirical headline for The New York Times if a giant asteroid was going to strike earth the next day.* It always comes to mind when I see a headline like the one below. Unsurprisingly, the author is affiliated with the far-left Rockefeller Foundation. *Of course, with the mainstream media in the 2020's, it isn't satire any longer (below).
Aussie Meteorologists Want More Money Because "Climate Whiplash is Making Their Forecasts Less Accurate"

Grok On one level, this piece by Australia's Jo Nova is hilarious . The Australian Bureau of Meteorology is joining companies like United Airlines and Wal•Mart in blaming the weather for their performance problems. Australia's Channel 7 news says: Australians are facing a new climate reality where traditional weather patterns no longer apply, with scientists warning that “climate whiplash” is making seasonal forecasts increasingly unreliable and costly. The phenomenon has left meteorologists struggling to predict what’s coming next, as one season can bring floods, fires, storms and record heat with little warning. My "favorite" comment? But forecasters admit anything is possible in the current climate. So -- surprise -- the Aussie meteorologists want more money because it is getting harder to forecast the weather at 90 days in the future. While I have zero experience forecasting 90 day weather Down Under, I do know that our 90-day forecasts are of poor quality no ...

Big Climate sent out press releases last week about how Spain -- in nice weather -- managed to run their electric grid with wind, solar and batteries for seven hours. Unfortunately, people need electricity 24/7/365. Above is what happens when a storm rolls through. If Texas used a greater percentage of wind and solar (with solar panels covered by snow and ice in places), it would have been a disaster. And, in New York and New England...

"COP 30" currently in progress in Brazil is the annual luxurious, private jet-dominated orgy of spending in a remote part of the world where the attendees tell us we must cut our carbon footprints. Ironically, there was considerable 'warming' today when a large fire broke out. In a bit of probably unintentional irony The Metro reported on a "hotly disputed" topic: I'm sure those discussions were heated before Guterres said "compromise was acceptable" (see link). Fortunately, there were no fatalities from the fire.
Big Climate Will Be Excited By the Tropical Storm/Hurricane Threat the Next Few Days

As someone who has been a professional meteorologist and weather scientist for more than 55 years, let me state that the tropical weather forecast for the Southeast United States over the next week is both complex and unusual. While there have been tropical systems in close proximity before (it doesn't need climate change to occur), the fact these two systems (and perhaps a third according to one model) will be close together does complicate the forecast. One model currently shows one of the storms approaching the coast, heading out to the Atlantic, heading back to toward the U.S. and then back into the Atlantic (somewhat similar to Sandy but a different location). I bring this up because the transition of climate news to climate propaganda continues. CBS has more or less farmed out its climate news to an advocacy company called Climate Central . If either Humberto or the potential Imelda takes an unusual path I guarantee it will be blamed on global warming. So, as you ...

Yale, the producer of this new poll is Big Climate's marketing arm . With just 29% of all adults and just 42% of "moderate" Democrats "very worried" about global warming, my opinion is that the tens of millions spent haven't been very effective. Which is a problem because global warm is a problem , it just isn't a crisis. By exaggerating the seriousness of the issue, they have hurt their credibility and made effective action less likely.
