Steve Pryor, Rest in Peace

The world lost a great meteorologist and veteran/patriot this past week with the unexpected passing of WeatherData/AccuWeather meteorologist Steve Pryor.

After receiving his Masters in Meteorology at Colorado State, Steve reached the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force. During his 23 year Air Force career he headed the weather group at Vandenburg AFB in California that made the critical weather forecasts for our military rocket launches.

When Steve retired, he came to WeatherData, Inc. where he headed our forensic and research meteorology group. Not only was Steve an incredibly talented meteorologist, his integrity (crucial when dealing with forensic matters) was unchallengeable.

Steve was married to Kathy for 49 years and leaves behind her and his daughter Christine and her family.

In the 50's and 60's, there was a description you rarely hear these days that applied to Steve. He was a "prince of a man." His entire obituary is here
