Extreme Wind Forecast: Kansas and Oklahoma

High winds, with gusts to 50 mph, have begun over the western 1/5th of Kansas, generally along and west of U.S. 83. As this weather system moves east and intensifies, extreme wind gusts -- over 75 mph -- are forecast by multiple models in the area outlined in yellow. I have marked Wichita, Dodge City and Enid for reference. The winds will spread from west to east and continue tonight.

Bring in lawn furniture and anything that can be blown about. Power failures are possible.
