African Dust: Dulling the Sunset

The African dust reached south central Kansas today. If you follow me on Twitter ( @usweatherexpert ), you've seen the discussions that -- in spite of what some speculated -- African dust dulls sunsets. To demonstrate, I was just outside taking a photo of a thunderstorm about 40 mi. northeast of my home that should have been a prime candidate for the gorgeous orange of Kansas thunderstorms at sunset.
