Next Week's Precipitation and Beyond

Badly needed rain and snow is forecasted for the West. Unneeded rain forecasted for the Mid-South and Lower Mississippi Valley.

Some parts of the Great Plains may see their first snow of the season.

Looking beyond, I have fairly high confidence the wetter than average condition in the West will continue out to Day 10, especially in the Southwest.
My confidence in this forecast is lower in the eastern half of the nation.
