Here's the forecast for 6pm CST this evening.  Unfortunately, flooding is likely in the West and possible in the Ozarks before the week is out. 

Above is the forecast for 6pm Monday evening. There may be weather-related airline delays at the hub airports in Detroit, Seattle and, later, San Francisco.   However, in the morning, there will be icy areas in the Midwest. White Christmas Chance Precipitation Forecast This is the forecast precipitation from now until 6pm next Sunday. Flooding is possible along the West Coast due to rainfalls exceeding ten inches in spots and extremely heavy, wet snow in the high elevations. The Rockies and Wasach will see additional snow for skiing. 

If you are headed to the Northeast tomorrow evening, be aware there could be significant flight delays due to snow.  Forecast for 6pm Friday Forecasrt for 6am Saturday As for Saturday, delays are still possible in the Northeast. Meanwhile, delays are likely  at the San Francisco airline hub and possible at the Seattle hub. 

For Monday, 1pm CST: It would not surprise me to see significant flight delays at San Francisco and, possible, the Chicago airports due to weather.  Please note: while the contrast between blue (snow) and green (rain) in California is difficult to discern on both maps,  heavy  snow is forecast for I-80 in California through 6am CST Wednesday. If you are going to travel in that area, you may need to carry chains.  Tuesday, 6pm CST: Starting in the East, there will be considerable lake effect snow on the south and east side of the Great Lakes. There will be heavy snow in the Colorado Rockies, the Wasatch and throughout parts of Nevada and Idaho. If you are driving on I-70 or I-80 in these areas, please prepare for winter driving conditions.

Here's a travel outlook for this weekend.  Friday, 6am CST Green is rain and darker greens are heavier rains.  Friday, 6pm CST Please note the legend in the lower left corner of the map. Hail is possible in southern Arizona.  Saturday, 6am CST The storm that has caused heavy rain in southern California will make its way into the Rockies with snow, rain and mixed precipitation. Thunderstorms may cause heavy rain in southwest Texas and southeast New Mexico. During the day Saturday, thunderstorms will spread from Texas to Kansas. There may be disruptions at the American Airlines' hub in Phoenix and the Delta hub in Salt Lake City.
