Flood and Tornado Threat Forecasts

There is a small area with a significant risk of a tornado or two this afternoon and evening. It is in brown. This includes Kansas City, Topeka, Quincy and Springfield (IL).

There is a flash flood watch (dark green) for Kansas, Missouri and a small part of Illinois. The light green lines are rivers above flood stage.
Thunderstorms are forecast to develop after 3pm and continue through the night, which is when the heaviest rains are forecast to occur.
