Major Weather Risks This Week

The flooding forecast for this week is the posted below. Unfortunately, there are other major hazards. Ice Storm Conditions  are likely from eastern Kansas to Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. Heavy Snow  is likely from the west areas of Lake Superior, the northern Great Plains and Rockies. Please check your local AccuWeather forecast.

Serious Flooding Risk This Week!

There will likely be flooding on the Ohio River (arrows) in the next few days. There is a massive area from Michigan to Texas (yellow) where flooding is likely to develop, especially south of Interstate 64 . Five to eight inches of rain will fall in that region the next seven days. Prepare now. I am quite confident heavy rains will occur.

At Last - The Rains Begin

The first storm in the series (scroll down) has brought desperately needed rain to parts of the southern Great Plains. Much more rain is needed over this area and rain is needed farther north, as well. However, we have to start somewhere.

Two Thought Leader Articles By Wichita Authors

There are a lot of very smart people who live in Wichita and I would like to introduce you to two of them who wrote interesting columns this past week. Sonia Greteman Sonia is the entrepreneur who started Greteman Group , an extremely successful advertising agency here that handles the marketing communications for some of the largest aviation companies in the world. She has a wonderful piece that discusses the use of color . Al Higdon Remember when Pete and Trudy flew off to Wichita in the final episode (photo above)? They were headed here to plot restart their lives and to run the marketing for Lear Jet, one of Wichita's iconic companies. Many believe that character was based on Al Higdon. If you are interested in the history of aviation, he has written a series on his history in aviation. The first edition is here . Both are well worth your time. And, speaking of Wichita aviation, the 10,000th 737 fuselage rolled off the assembly line at Spirit Aerosystems Thursday. ...
