Meteorologists, especially of my era, are over-educated in math. And, because I have a minor in engineering, I had to take engineering math I and II (which is beyond advanced calculus), vector analysis and four  advanced statistics courses. Six months out of college, I had forgotten most of it. So, for all my meteorologist friends, this graph (from Twitter) is for you!

From the time I was in college, I always heard that "women don't like math." I've always been skeptical of that claim. Regardless, here is an inspiring story I had not heard before about the women who helped solved a WWII math mystery . I believe that one way we might get more women interested in math is to show stories like this about how mathematicians can solve real problems. Hat Tip: Dave Freeman.
