Humans to Mars? Not So Fast.

We hear a lot these days about sending human beings to Mars. 

Author Homer Hickman (October Sky/Rocket Boys) has written a compelling piece that predicts we won't be sending people to Mars anytime soon -- certainly not within our lifetimes, and probably never. 

I agree with Homer and would add that I wonder how many of these NASA programs are pipe dreams that fleece the taxpayers at a time when we should be examining every dollar spent by the federal government.
