America's CO2 Dropping
The U.S. government did not sign on to the Kyoto Treaty to cut carbon dioxide, decision that invoked withering criticism from quite a few.
Guess what? America's CO2 emissions are dropping. From the U.S. Energy Information Administration:
Ingenuity and innovation is solving a problem that governments are not. The large-scale use of fracking has made natural gas abundant and much less expensive. Earlier this year, for the first time, more electricity was generated with natural gas than with coal.
Because natural gas has more energy and less CO2 per unit, everyone wins.
Dr. Roger Pielke, Jr. in The Climate Fix identified this phenomena when he wrote the book: Innovation would be the way to de-carbonizing our energy supply.
