"42"
What a great, great, great, great movie!
For those that aren't aware, it is the story of Jackie Robinson, the first black man to play major league baseball. All three of the leads,
- Chadwick Boseman as Jackie Robinson
- Harrison Ford as Branch Rickey
- Nicole Beharie as Rachel Robinson
give Academy Award-worthy performances.
But, the movie does a tremendous job of explaining for people too young to remember Jim Crow laws and how the era of separate and not equal is a tremendous blot on America's record. I'd like to make a suggestion: Take your children (12 and up) to the movie and explain what they are seeing on the screen. They will benefit tremendously from it.
