Update on Northern Plains Blizzard
Orange is the blizzard warning. Pink is a winter storm warning. The gold in northwest Kansas and immediately surrounding areas is a high wind warning. Blue is a winter weather advisory. Finally, the small green area along the ND-MN border is a blizzard watch.
The storm is slowly getting organized. At 9:47pm CST, AccuWeather Regional Radar showed light snow across much of South Dakota and little activity elsewhere. Things will increase over the next 3-6 hours.
One reason the storm is still organizing is that it has a double low pressure system. While it is more likely the northern swirl, near Goodland, KS, will be dominant, it is not certain.
