Uh Oh! Winter Storm Update 10:10pm

Take a look at the newest regional radar at 10:02pm CST. The thunderstorms over west Texas indicate that more unstable air than I would have expected is moving north.

IF it is able to generate snow thunderstorms then additional very heavy snows are possible over central Kansas and, later, over Missouri. The model below has some ability to forecast those conditions.
I don't want to alarm anyone but there is some possibility there may be lightning and thunder with the snow between about 3am and 9am in Kansas. If so, it will make the Wichita rush hour very difficult.

I still believe our total snowfall will be between 8 and 15 inches but, if thundersnow occurs, all bets are off.
