Here is the sunset at 6:48pm from my back yard. The low, gray clouds are zipping north with the low level set stream. The orange cloud at left is another cumulus towering up into the atmosphere attempting to become a thunderstorm.
If you've ever seen one of these lines that appear to radiate from the radar's location in the early morning and evening, it is because the radar is pointed directly at the sun as it (in this case) sets.
