  1. Mike, I just heard on Fox News that Wichita broke a 100 year record with 6" of snow.

Is there a way to confirm this?

  2. Per KFDI: The storm is among Wichita's 20 greatest snow events in history. If significant snowfall occurs later Thursday, it could crack the top 10. Wednesday's 6.2 inches of snow broke a 101-year-old record by one inch for Feb. 20.

So it would be record for the date...yesterday. As I write this, NWS ICT is officially .2" short of breaking the top 5 all-time single-system snowfalls.

  3. Scott: Thanks for the correction. I thought Don was referring to the "worst storm" record rather than the "daily snowfall" record.

We'll get into the Top 5 for sure.

  4. Too bad we don't here that it's just for Feb 20 on Fox because alarmists will take it expand on it.

Check out this storey about what a K-State prof is quoted as saying.
