The National Hurricane Center has upped its intensity forecast to 115 mph at landfall, which is a major hurricane (the M on the map). Pressure has dropped to 982 mb. It looks like our 11-year major hurricane drought is about to end.
I urge people in the hurricane warning area and about 25 miles inland to seriously consider the safety suggestions below.
