Heads Up This Weekend

We don't usually think of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in the same month as Thanksgiving but they are possible this weekend.


Saturday

These are the probabilities of a tornado or a severe thunderstorm (defined at having hail 1" in diameter, wind gusts of 58 mph or higher or both) within 25 mi. of your location. Generally speaking, 15% is the "significant" threat threshold. A concern is that college football games will be going on when thunderstorms are occurring.


Sunday

While the absolute probabilities are as high, this is a relatively large area for this type of forecast in this time of year.

If you live in these areas, pay attention to the weather. 

If you have tickets to a college game Saturday, make sure you have some way of monitoring the weather and exit the stadium for better shelter in plenty of time before thunderstorms arrive.
