No Hurricane Threat Right Now; Relax

Continue to see ridiculous forecasts about a possible future hurricane (Saturday, 10am).

Here are the FACTS:
1. Yes, there is a strong hurricane in the middle of the Atlantic.

2. None, NONE of the computer models have any consistency whatsoever as to its future path. Many have it not hitting land at all. Some have it hitting the USA and others as far south as the Yucatan.

3. The one that has it hitting east coast of the USA has it hitting TEN DAYS from now!

You don't have to worry about hurricanes 10 days out. That's what you have us for.
The bottom line is that AccuWeather, I, the NWS, and other responsible meteorologists will begin covering this about five days before possible landfall IF there is something to worry about. For now, please enjoy your holiday weekend, contribute something to the Harvey recovery and chill out.
