A Story About the Great New England Hurricane of '38

My long-time friend, Joe D'Aleo, has written a fascinating story of the New England 1938 hurricane and what the forecasters did wrong and why the storm was surprise that resulted in many hundreds of deaths.

As I write about in Warnings, the Weather Bureau of that era simply did not want to be in the hurricane and tornado warning business.

I agree with Joe when he states that it is not a question of if it will occur again. The question is when?
