"Particularly Dangerous Situation" Redux

Last weekend, the National Weather Service issued a rare "particularly dangerous situation" tornado watch in the Upper Midwest. Now, we have one for the Carolinas and southern Virginia. That means major tornadoes are possible



There is a conventional tornado watch in effect farther north for D.C., most of Maryland, and northern Virginia.


Multiple tornado warnings are now out in the region (red polygons):

I can't emphasize enough that people in these areas should keep close touch on the weather this afternoon and evening. Seventeen have already been killed in this tornado outbreak.
