Hesston Tornado Anniversary Tomorrow

In 1990, two F-5 tornadoes occurred in central Kansas, the Hesston Tornado and the Goessel Tornado. On March 13, an intense supercell spawned these two powerful storms. The Wichita NWS has a page full of  information here

There is a video of the Hesston Tornado and the beginning of the Goessel Tornado (the two merged) below.

The warnings of these tornadoes were excellent. Two members of my team were chasing it and called in reports to the NWS. All of this clearly saved lives.

While separate merging tornadoes are infrequent, there was a pair that merged in Iowa Saturday.
